Brown Mushroom are similar to the white mushroom in shape and size but firmer to the touch. The colour ranges from light tan to dark brown.
Don't clean mushrooms until you are ready to use them. To remove any bits of the peat moss in which they were grown, rinse quickly with cold running water or wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth, paper towel or soft brush.
Woodsy flavour becomes stronger with cooking.
Serve in soups, salads, appetizers, and entrées; a great side dish with any meal.
